Despite her exceptional skills and commitment to the game, she faced a significant hurdle: FIFA's eligibility rules. Nadia was not able to apply for Danish citizenship until she was 18, and once she received citizenship. Subsequently, FIFA blocked her from playing for Denmark because she had not been a resident for the requisite 5 years after turning 18.
